Gurugram, July 24, 2025 – In a landmark ruling that reinforces homebuyer rights, the Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (HRERA) has directed Assotech Ltd to refund ₹38.5 lakh to a buyer who was left waiting for years due to the undelivered flat in the Assotech Blith project, Sector 99, Gurgaon.
Despite booking a 3BHK flat (Unit G-503) in 2012 for ₹1 crore with an assured possession by March 2016, the complainant, Vineet Minocha, only received partial payment back and no completed unit. The builder’s failure to deliver as per agreement forced the buyer to take legal recourse with HRERA, which ruled in the buyer’s favor under Section 18(1) of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016.
“The developer failed to honour contractual commitments. The complainant is entitled to a full refund with 11% interest,” said the HRERA bench in its order.
